Tauna Coulson
I began making art in earnest after the death of two significant people in my life within a two-month period. This isn’t a bad thing, sad of course but one can choose to make lemonade. Focusing on my art gives me color and purpose–it organizes the thoughts in my head. My work’s been really diverse over the years, always a reflection of my life and what I need.
I previously had twenty-plus years as a graphic designer and this greatly influenced the sense of color, texture, and overall balance, or hierarchy in the work. It provided a starting point that was both limiting and liberating. On the one hand, it gives me a sense of what to put where but I’m still waiting to see what happens if I can dispel all of that.
Thank you rrjones for always making me look my best.
